Do you own a Plasma TV yet?

I've been waiting for the plasma tv prices to come down. Now you can get one at Wal*Mart for around $1500. I'm wondering if it is time to take the plunge...

The price keeps coming down, and I think it'll come down more. I also think that many of plasma, HD or whatever they call TV lack quality. Marketing seems to be getting ahead of actual quality of products. I would be careful if I were to spend $1000 to get a new TV.

I agree CinemaKid. I am going to wait a couple years at least. The quality is definitely an issue on the cheaper models. It's sort of like buying a $1000 dollar cd player when they first came out. You know you would have regretted it.

I was just checking websites related to TV today for a reason, and a lot of new technologies are being tried. It's pretty exciting, but this also means that latest hardware, TV, can get quite expensive. If you have money to burn, then there is no reason why you should be hesitant, but if you are not multi-millionaire, you should probably wait for a couple of years.

So, is it a big difference when you watch a movie? I haven't got yet, but want to know is it worth that money.

I often go check those big fancy TVs, and yes, some of them look really good, and they do look so much better than regular TV. However, they are a bit pricy, and I'm not 100% sure if they are worth that much.

I am defintely not going to take that plunge for a long time. I currently watch TV on my computer. We have a small apartment so we simply watch TV on the computer. Since we don't watch TV very often then it is not a big deal.

I personally don't see the need, I always thought that the old fashioned TVs had great screen quality

Oh .. this is such a far dream I just don't even think about it. I just got a TV tuner for my laptop and it was already a big investment. 70 USD in my country is a big sum. So plasma? Not in this lifetime I am afraid Smile

My apartments living room is small and space is at a premium, however, I have a nice 27" Toshiba flatscreen that works well. I'm just not ready to part with it quite yet. Maybe in five years. Very Happy

I was just drooling over plasma TV's in Best Buy this past weekend....I'll definitely be getting one for myself at some point in time.

I remember when the things used to be $12,000...now you can get the same quality TV for $3,000...it's only a matter of time.

When the 32" plasma drops down to $500 or less. I will own one. Untill then my regular tv works just fine. Smile

32"??

If you're going to get a plasma, go all out! Don't settle for anything 50" or less

I do not have a plasma TV, but I do have a 54" flat screen, so that's still pretty nice.

Must be fun to watch sports and movies on that screen ...

It is, I love it. Sports games are great, and movies are too because I can watch the widescreen version, which I prefer, and not lose too much size.
