You know what bothers me about films with monsters?
Almost every film with some kind of monster or nonhuman creature doing battle against humans will feature the big scary monster throwing its head back and roaring for a few seconds before attacking the hero. Even my beloved Lord of the Rings films suffer from this... in fact it especially drove me nuts in those films. Why doesn't the hero take the opportunity to slit its throat?! The jugular is exposed for you and the creature is busy impressing us all with it vocalizations, it's the perfect time to strike! _________________

Ha ha. That's very funny.
It's like action movies. When the bad guy is pointing the guy at at the hero, instead of pulling the trigger, he starts talking sh*t until the hero is able to grab the gun and get away.
When you have someone you want to kill in your sight, just pull the damn trigger. Why waste your time to give him an opportunity to get away or fight you. _________________

Yeah, and the bad guy always feels compelled to reveal his evil plan, so the hero gets away and sets everythiing straight in time.
And if the bad guy does take a shot at the good guy, he will either miss, or graze the hero's shoulder so it can drip with blood artistically _________________

Unless it's a detective movie; then the hero must deduce the entire evil plan from the gum wrapper left on the sidewalk. _________________
