Cloverfield (2008)
Just watched Cloverfield and thought it was an excellent film. I absolutely loved the way they did all the CG on a camcorded film. I don't want to spoil the film for those that have not seen it yet but, if you forgive the fact that the camcorder battery lasts for hours and hours and a few other inconsistencies that had to happen to make the film work, it is a fantastic film.
The only gripe I have with these types of films is that the hand held camcorder work is too shaky and makes you feel sick at times. Apart from that. 8/10 _________________

I heard it was ok but rather dumb at the same time. I didn't really want to watch this though. Also heard there was no build up to how the thing got there or any kind of plot, basically people running around scared. _________________

Your right! There is no build up as to where the thing came from. It is all from the perspective of a few people. But that’s what I love about it; the one side to the story. I like the fact that you don't quite know what’s going on (as you wouldn’t if it was happening to you)
At the start of the film you start to think... "When is the action gonna start?” But when it does, you totally immerse yourself in the story and imagine you are one of them whilst it’s all happening. Well, that’s what I got from the film.
I also think that Cloverfield II would be an excellent opportunity to explore the whole story from a completely different point of view. But hey, that’s just an idea. _________________

re: Blair
I would never watch this movie, I hate these types of movies that copy aspects of other films. (the Blair Godzilla Project)

Mm, I wanted to watch this so bad; it seemed like the kind of film that would have more impact in the cinema than on your DVD player, but I missed my chance.
I guess I'll get it from LOVEFiLM DVD Rentals in a few months (more like years at their speed).
