Vodka Lemon
Watched this last nightthrough Netflix's Instant Download as it has subtitles. Vodka Lemon depicts life in a bleak Armenian mountain village, where the snow is three feet deep but everyone still sits outside to chat and commiserate. The plot wasn't terribly coherent (at one point a man gets shot in some sort of dispute over a pregnant woman, but it's not clear what his relationship is to her, what happens to him, or if the shooter receives any kind of punishment) but I still found it interesting to see what life is like in such a remote village. The austerity reminded me a bit of The Great Silence. _________________
