War of the Worlds
Has anyone seen this yet? I heard it's a lot about "Tom Cruise Running". One of my fellow co-workers said he liked the special effects, but was disappointed because the plot was pointless.

I've seen it. I didn't like it for the simple fact that the aliens were smart enough to travel space and implant machines in our ground but wasn't smart enough to realize that our germs would kill them. Not sure how the book went as I've never read it.

I saw it, and the thing that I took from the movie was that it seemed like the little girl screamed for the entire movie. 45 minutes in I was really pulling for the aliens to get her.

LOL @ ziggy.
I like dakota fanning, but she can really play an annoying little girl. I liked the special fx in the movie. What does there need to be a plot for? The aliens come to take over the earth, and we have to defend ourselves.
This was just one person's view of this encounter. He didn't kill them, he just stayed alive long enough for them to be defeated by little buggers.

The movie totally butchered and ruined the original plot in the original book by HG Wells.

I never read the book or saw the original so my opinion on the story is based on this version and I thought it was pretty good.
