NICOLE KIDMAN and 007 star DANIEL CRAIG face a full-scale alien invasion in their new sci-fi thriller, in theaters August 17.

An update of the classic 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' story, 'The Invasion' follows the unraveling nightmare of Washington, DC psychiatrist Carol Bennell (Kidman) and her friend, Dr. Ben Driscoll (Craig) -- who discover that the world is quickly being taken over by extra-terrestrials!

When the space shuttle crashes mysteriously, it's discovered that there is something alien inside the wreckage. Very quickly, those who come in contact with it start to change, displaying ominous and frightening behavior -- in epidemic numbers.

The aliens attack their victims while they're asleep, taking over the entire being from within. Paranoia grows as Carol and Ben don't know who has been infected or who to trust -- and the only key to their survival may just be her young son! Can they stay awake long enough to save the world?

Back in January, during filming of the movie, Nicole was taken to a hospital after being involved in an accident on the set. She was shooting a chase scene when a stunt driver towing her car lost control while turning a corner on slick pavement -- and crashed Nicole's car into a pole.

Warner Brothers released a statement right afterwards that said, "There was an accident involving a rigged camera vehicle on the set of 'The Invasion' Wednesday night in Los Angeles. Nicole Kidman was in the vehicle at the time of the accident and was taken to the hospital for evaluation. She was released shortly thereafter. No other actors were involved in the scene at the time of the incident.

Nicole recently talked about the accident, telling ET, "I broke some ribs and was knocked out. It's all in the film. I figured, I don't want to have to shoot it again, so put it in. There's a shot in there where I was literally passed out."
