The Grudge
Horror films aren't for everybody, but I tend to like the genre, so I see quite a few of them. I saw The Grudge a couple of months ago. I thought it started strong and got weak at the end. Anybody else seen it? _________________ Shamelessly Pimpin'

Well, I think it is somewhat popular. Fans of the genre would probably have heard of it. _________________ Shamelessly Pimpin'

I am also a big horror fan. The movie seemed promising at first, but the ending was very weak. Actually, I dont remember how the movie ended..it was horrible

Lots of shots of the woman and the kid. It was overkill, IMO. I've heard the Japanese version is better. Have you seen it? _________________ Shamelessly Pimpin'

He didn't come back to tell you what he thought, but I'm here so I'll add my penniless thoughts. And sadly, I thought the U.S. version was better than the Japanese ones. The U.S. version is a lot faster-paced and in-your-face, whereas the Japanese counterpart's more subtle and prolonged.
However, I agree with the general concensus. At first when the ghastly figure appeared for the introduction of The Grudge, the whole theater shrieked. They had never seen something so freaky. But then they kept showing it, over and over, until the novel shock factor faded into redundant mediocrity. _________________

Terrible movie. I was shocked at the first appearance of the girl but like ghostman said it got old.
I actually ended up laughing everytime I saw the little boy. _________________

This movie scared me good! lol I will agree that the apperance of the girl/kid did get old after a while. I've not seen the original so I'm not sure if it's any better.
I tend to think Ameircan film makers screw up movies they remake from foreign films. Le Femme Nikita was one I saw in the orginal version first and the American version wasn't nearly as good.

Ju-On The Grudge (Japanese Version) scared me to death (I was alot younger) and the Grudge back then was decently scary too.
However I very much hope that NO ONE HERE ever watches the Grudge 2 (USA version). It was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. _________________

I've seen both of the Grudge movies. I can't say the second was worse than the first! They were both pretty mediocre scary movies, but they kept my interest! _________________ Jude
