UK Cinemas

Is it just me or are Uk cinemas a rip off?
£7 to sit in uncomfortable seats, with sticky floors and expensive refreshments...

It costs close to $10 in US, so as far as the price is concerned, there is not much difference between UK and US.

I wouldn;t mind a £2 less price, lol! We get ripped off immensely here, I'm sure everytime I go to the cinema I spend about £15 because popcorn and a drink is very expensive too Sad

I do agree it seems a little pricey, but is it really so bad for an hour and a half's entertainment? Of course, nobody's forcing you to attend and you could wait until it comes out on DVD or on TV...

1.20 for fuel is extremely cheap. In the U.S., it's 3.50. Mad

I heard the cheapest place is Venezuela, where it's 12 cents per gallon.

haha, i think peeps are getting a bit mixed up with currencies and measurements:

in australia and the uk we measure petrol in litres, in the US it's gallons so 1 gallon* is about 3.8 litres. now, $1.20AUS per litre is around 50p (UK Sterling), $3.50USD per gallon is around 92cents per litre or around 50p (UK Sterling) so you actually pay almost exactly the same!! Very Happy and us in the UK still pay twice as much!! Crying or Very sad

Ant

* That's a US gallon, an imperial gallon is 4.5 litres

Yeah, fuel in the UK is very heavily taxed. I'm glad I don't do anything like the miles I used to.

I think the cinema prices have gone up a lot recently and I don't go any more.
