Yes, it was fascinating to watch... Dengler really had to use all his wits, skills, and charisma to survive. If you watch the documentary you get an even better sense of his character; he talks about his childhood in war-torn, impoverished Germany and you realize that's how he learned how to lie to the guards effectively. Sadly, you also see how it still affects him psychologically... he hoards food, doesn't sleep well unless he's in an airplane cockpit, has to always know he's got an escape route, etc. _________________
