I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. I loved them. _________________

I enjoyed the Harry Potter movies, but I guess the movies didn't quite match up to my mental image from the books in that I thought the wizarding world would be brighter. Cleaner, more colorful, more whimsical. Ok, I guess my expectations have probably been skewed by Disney, but except for the whole Voldemort-fight-to-the-death thing I didn't see that world as particularly dark. _________________

They are pretty good, considering the books are so huge. I have read all the books and seen all the movies, but I think the director has done justice to the Novels! _________________ [url]http://digital-musings.com[url/]

The first movie was okay to watch, but I didn't see what the big fuss was about. I have not read the book.

I'm another one of the big book fans that LOVED the books to bits then went to the movies only to be left feeling very disappointed at the lack of detail and little changes that the directors made to make them different. I feel had they stuck more to the books and expanded them more it would have been an even bigger hit than they where already. _________________ WwW.LivingLifeOnline.Com - An Up Coming General Discussion Community

I've not seen any of the films, and i only read the first 3 (or maybe 4) books. When they first came out i was only young, and they were just childhood stories, by the time the 5th book was released i really felt too old for them.
I know plenty of adults love them (my mum included) but they lost their childhood magic for me as i aged.
From what i've heard opinion seems to be split on the film. Like TVDinner says, keeping true to the increasing book lengths would just never be possible so clearly a lot of the content had to be sacrificed.
