Have you guys watched any BollyWood movies?
Hi guys,
I am from India and an ardent Hollywood fan. But I was wondering if you have watched any Bollywood movies or not?>
If you have let me know in reply! I might even suggest you a new one if you liked what you saw!
Cheers!

I enjoyed Bride and Prejudice and have seen a couple others. Titles escape me as I don't speak the language, but one was about an Indian woman who fell in love with a Muslim and moved to Afghanistan to marry him, but was disillusioned when he took another wife. _________________

Eh, I don't know that you should bother, I didn't think that one was very good (whatever the name was). I was only giving it as an example of my limited knowledge of Bollywood films. I wouldn't mind seeing more like Bride and Prejudice though. (I did see Bend it Like Beckham by the same director but I don't think that's considered Bollywood) _________________

Soliloquy, are you from UK? Because it is just my observation that the English have much more exposure to Bollywood than Americans simply because the density of the people from Subcontinent is higher in UK..

I'm from New York City, my exposure to Bollywood movies mostly comes from my Indian and West Indian (Caribbean) friends. They know the best places to buy pirated Bollywood movies and sometimes bring the ones with subtitles over, or I'll find recommended ones on Netflix if they can't find it. I can't say I've watched very many, maybe six or seven in total. I consider them not dissimilar to American musicals, just with more exotic costumes and dance numbers
I enjoyed Bend it Like Beckham but found the soccer (football to you) parts boring. And I found the whole "Indian girls shouldn't play football" aspect surprising, because the Indian girls I've known in school never seemed to be limited in what activities they participated in, at least not that I know of. Some played sports (softball and volleyball, crew in college), one was a cheerleader, one was a temple dancer, etc. Of course they were all in the highest classes, the push to do well educationally was the same. _________________

I am from India, so of course yes! Though I prefer watching Hollywood movies, with exception to few hindi movies like Khosla ka ghosla. _________________
