I've been on a bit of a Star Wars marathon this week. I've watched episodes I - IV so far in the past two days.

I think I'll watch Empire tonight, and Jedi tomorrow.

The prequels should've had much more of the feel of Empire, the second and third at least.

It was all in the writing. I think they spent too long dwelling on Anakins turn to the darkside, it should've happened in Episode II at the latest.

Ah yes, I see what you mean. Lucas even manged to cock up some of the original films by placing extra dodgy scenes in them. The scene with Jabba in A New Hope is simply awful.

I wonder why they always feel they need to do that - add to movies that are already classics to just about everyone.
