I've been on a bit of a Star Wars marathon this week. I've watched episodes I - IV so far in the past two days. Very Happy

I think I'll watch Empire tonight, and Jedi tomorrow.

Oh yeah. It's Empire every time.

The prequels should've had much more of the feel of Empire, the second and third at least.

they were "brighter" and not as dark. and that might be as much the fault of technology as anything else.

It was all in the writing. I think they spent too long dwelling on Anakins turn to the darkside, it should've happened in Episode II at the latest.

they also became obsessed with the special effects. Just to show what they could actually do on screen.

Ah yes, I see what you mean. Lucas even manged to cock up some of the original films by placing extra dodgy scenes in them. The scene with Jabba in A New Hope is simply awful.

I wonder why they always feel they need to do that - add to movies that are already classics to just about everyone.
