The Matrix doesn't stand out as superb or atrocious, it's just one of the crowd in my opinion.
Have you watched V for Vendetta? If so, what did you think about it?
I ask this question because both movies are written by Wachowski bothers, and there are certain similarities.
I think the movies you mention are WAY different. I also am not a huge Matrix fan, but I enjoyed the fight scenes with Neo and the bad agents and the general premise of the movie is fun to debate (like if it could ever happen? are we in a matrix now? etc etc etc) - but in general I think they really messed up with #2 and got caught up with their own hype and made the movie so confusing and mental babble that they lost many of their core fans.
Now V for Vendetta is a really fun film and rivals many of the "bleak futures" films. This one is worth seeing a few times to really see the world they created. _________________

I loved the first Matrix and the second Matrix. They were both some of the most entertaining movies I have seen in a while. I hated the third though, it was more like a small continuation of the second instead of an independent movie. _________________

Matrix is one of those movies that you have to see more than once. I was totally lost the first time I saw it, and kept going "WTF?" through out the whole thing...but when it ended and I realized what was going on? Well, I still said "WTF?" and had to see it again! Well, I tell you! I loved it the second time! It all made sense then! But don't get me started on the 3rd movie! I get steamed just thinking about the ending of that movie! I own the first 2 movies, and I just try not to think about the 3rd one! _________________ Jude

Matrix was a great movie which
kind of revolutionized
American cinema. After Matrix, more film makers made their actors practice martial arts to make the action scenes look better. DOn't forget the slow - mo which became more mainstream. However the story was heavily based on Ghost in The Shell.(great anime movie.)

I think they lost track in the sequels and the trilogy. The first one was absolutely great but they lost track of it and let other things get in the way. _________________

I totally agree with you mh! It's like they let the popularity of the first movie go to their heads and they just threw together the scripts for the last two. Completely went away from Neo trying to rescue all the humans and just turned it into a story about trying to keep Smith from becoming more of a computer virus than he already was! Totally lame!!! _________________ Jude

I think if they would have had more philosophy in the sequels it could have been much better. The whole superman flying thing was too much for me. _________________

Matrix was only supposed to be one movie but they got so much money for sequels....well lets just say they got ahead of themselves.
