Biggest Oscar injustice
What would you say is the biggest Oscar injustice ever...?
You know the kind of thing, I mean... someone acts really well in a movie, but someone else picks up the best actor award, and everyone's left speechless.
Can you think of any surprises like that?

well .. perhaps the fact Lion in Winter got nothing this year? It's a great movie. I also disliked seeing La Vita e Bella take the award from another movie I thought would have deserved it better. After some time I saw La Vita e Bella and understood those people knew what they were doing. Till this day that was one of the best movies I saw. _________________

Hmmm, Julie Roberts' Best Actress win for Erin Brockovich over Ellen Burstyn's amazing performance in Requiem For A Dream was a travesty. Roberts was nowhere in the same league as Burstyn.
The gawdawful soap opera Titanic winning Best Picture when the brilliant Boogie Nights wasn't even nominated that same year.
I am sure there are plenty others I'll think of when I hit the post button, but those are the two that stand out in my mind. _________________ Shamelessly Pimpin'

I didn't realize that. Hollywood is about being big and spending hundreds of millions of dollars in product; they are not keen on creating quality films most of the most. A bit sad really. _________________

Agreed. Though, the last few years Hollywood does seem to be showing more appreciation for the indie film when it comes time to hand out awards. I hope the trend continues. _________________ Shamelessly Pimpin'
