Creativity and Imagination is DEAD
Howdy y'all,
Okay... it is me or is there NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN?! <--- not yelling, just emphesising. lol
It seems to me that creativity within the human race is dead,
Dead
,
DEAD
!! What's with all the remakes?! Examples... King Kong... The Omen... Bewitched... Dukes of Hazards... umm... oh... The Italian Job... Ocean's 11... geez, the list goes on!
And I don't mean just in movies... the new Mustang... the new Charger... Imapala... VW Bug... ugh!!!
Is it just me?! Or does anyone else see the human race taking a big crapper when it comes to make NEW and exciting movies!?

It depends where you are looking. There is a lot of interesting and innovative stuff outside of the mainstream. _________________

Well, it is true that major motion picture studios are basically using same techniques over and over, but there are quite a few quality independent films. Also we ought to look beyond Hollywood. _________________

There may be a lot of remakes and stuff but there are also a lot of original ideas out there... Just that the movies that get the most hype are current franchises (see Pirates, 007, Spider-man, etc) _________________

It's not that people aren't creative, it just takes so much money for most blockbuster hits that it's not worth being innovative.
Most of the movies that do well are the same old stuff we're used to no matter how much critics hate them. The game industry has the same problems lately. If you're going to blow 50 or 100 million on something, it's got to be a sure bet.

Also they do well commercially not because they are good movies but they oftentimes do well because they ran great marketing campaigns. _________________

After watching Epic Movie, then hearing it was a box office success, I can only assume Hollywood isn't interested in creativity. They will just tirn out any old rubbish and concentrate on marketing it.
It's a shame. _________________
