The Exorcism of Emily Rose

When I rented this movie I did so purely based ont he snippets of trailers I had seen - I won't ruin it for those who intend to wathc it but let's just say it isn't the kind of horror film you expect - it's a very good film, it makes you think and the spin they took on it is a refreshing change.

Much more satisfying than the normal hack, slash, lot's of people die by supernatural means, someone saves the day, and then the film ends and we are all left wondering how the hell they explain that one to the police.

I recommend it.

Excellent review. Plz write more. Laughing

A lot of critics were offended by the misadvertisements of the horror film. Heck, a lot of my colleagues told me it was trash. But of course, I'm a big fan of horror, and I knew I had to judge the flick for myself.

Having said all that nonsense, I must say that I completely agree with you. Granted, it isn't the movie you see on the commercials. It's something much more than the jump-out-of-your-seat scary movie, as all of us expected. Whether you enjoy the change in direction, is dependant on whether you're willing to give a film like this a shot or simply shoot it down.

The movie itself was not 'scary' or 'creepy', but it was decently well done . I agree with you. Smile

It was advertised as an horror movie. There was nothing scary there. It was more like a thriller and/or a drama.
I did not like it too much.

It is a courtroom drama basically with a little exorcism mixed in, lol

The movie was certainly creepy. It wasn't a horror movie in the traditional sense. I would give it 6/10.

I saw the trailer and thought this was going to be a really good movie, but I was very disappointed. I suspect that they showed all the "horror" parts on the trailer, the rest is a court room drama.

I saw it in the theatres... believe me it was worth it, not because of the movie, because of what I got out of going to the movie.

Didn't like it, wasn't impressed, waste of time.

After the movie:

Loved it, highly impressed, couldn't have had enough time. Laughing
