I understand it cost something like $200 million to make so I'm guessing it ought to be good...

As the title says, this is essentially the remake of Superman series. It's not a complete remake, and it actually writes its own stories, but it's a Superman series, nonetheless. _________________

Superman is probably my least favorite super hero. Spacey is kick ass though and I'm going to see it mainly for him. And the action:) _________________

I think that it is a movie that I will be going to see.
I liked the old movies when I watched them those many years ago so I will probably sit down in theatre and watch this one too. _________________

It's received good reviews so far. However, Ebert criticized the actions scenes for seeming forced.
Another review said that Superman Returns joins the league of Spider-Man 2 and Batman Begins. I guess this is a good sign...

Superman returns, but frankly who cares!! Worst movie ever!!
Well maybe not quite but still complete pants. I could sum up the plot in 2 minutes and they wasted nearly 3 hours of my life telling it.
Basically the story was the same as ever, nothing overly new and certainly no twists or surprises. Superman himself was his usual pathetic self, the man has the charisma of a turnip!!
Frankly, in case you hadn't already worked it out, I really didn't enjoy this movie much! _________________

You know, this is the best part, man ...
I run this forum and hear good people like you getting ripped off. As I get information about new movies in this forum and how lousy they are, I will not have to get ripped off!!! (Kidding ...) _________________

Always been a fan of the first two Superman movies - and Supes is quite possible my favourite Superhero of them all. This movie picks up 5 years after Superman 2 left off and basically assumes that Superman 3 & 4 never existed, which is a smart move I guess. Directed by Mr Brian Singer, who is responsible for what I believe to be the dullest Comic Book adaptations ever made (take a bow X-Men and X-men 2), Superman Returns does have its highs and lows. The action sequences are quite breathtaking, but there isnt enough of them them, with Singer instead focusing on the enternal love triangle between Lois, Clark and Supes himself. Mix that up with a Jesus subtext (not too blatant this but its there), and the notion that all men have it in them to be heros (if not of the super variety), it is quite clear that Singer takes himself seriously as a director.
All in all tho, an enjoyable movie and one I will definitely be picking up on DVD. Oh and full marks for retaining the original John Williams Superman Theme. _________________

Gosh, if I neglected to read your last paragraph, I'd've thought you were slamming the film.
Well, I plan on checking it out anyway. It seems okay from the commercials, but hey, 80% of the folks that watch this film, are recommending it. It must have something I'm not seeing in the commercials. After all, Singer is one of the best comic book directors, alongside Sam Raimi (Spider-Man), Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) and very possibly Joss Whedon (Serenity, Firefly, Angel, etc).
Other than Kevin Spacey though, I'm not holding high hopes for the mannequin Kate Bosworth and the hunky newcomer. _________________

lol, yeh. I kind of added the last paragraph as an afterthought because I thought I might be misconstrued. It was easier then rewriting the whole post.

Really? Did you dislike all X-men movies, X-Men: The Last Stand, X2 and X-Men or just one or two of them?
Oh, by the way, welcome to yetAnotherFCW forum, badwolf! _________________
