I don't care much about Tom Cruise's personal life, but he's been featuring in only mediocre movies lately. I mentioned in some other thread, but his name is an established brand name internationally, so he still features in blockbuster movies, but he really hasn't done anything significant as an actor.

But ya he hasn't really been in anything great recently.

MI3 wasn't bad, but not great.

Ya, I just do not know...I used to be alright with him, then after the little Oprah crap he pulled I really lost respect for him.

As far as his career goes, I think his antics has hurt it. Maybe not in his paycheck, but definately at the box office.

I'm really not a big fan of Tom Cruise, but I don't think that his recent behavior affects his movies' box office results. His name has been marketed well internationally, and his name can attract a sizable audience, which assures the profitability of a movie that Tom Cruise features in. Not many actors can do the same, and this is why he is still one of the biggest earners in Hollywood.

I know he's really weird but I really enjoy all of his movies that I have seen. I've seen all the MI movies, Minority Report, War of the Worlds, and one other that I can't remember the title (where he finds his brother and his bro has mental problems).

I believe the movie you're having trouble remember, is titled Rain Main. It features Dustin Hoffman, who plays Tom Cruise's autistic brother Raymond.

I thought the movie was "okay" at best. Same deal with Minority Report and War of the Worlds. I've never seen a Tom Cruise movie and said it was great. They're all high-budget popcorn movies.

I enjoy Tom's movies not least because he's simply gorgeous - I particulary liked Vanilla Skies I think it was called - where he plays a rich man who was cryogenically frozen and the endless dream he has during his 'dead state' is malfunctioning. My apologies for ruining the plot should anyone not have seen it.

He has most certainly come a long way from the days of 'Legend', may he reign for many more years to come.

Yeah, I agree with this more or less. I actually think that some of his movies are pretty entertaining. I'd enjoy watching some movies while I have a couple of beers and some junk food to relax a bit. However, none of his movies are what you call cinema classics. They are made for entertainment; they are not made to inspire you or make you have a deep thought.

I think Rain Man and Vanilla Sky were good. The Mission Impossible is entertaining for a Saturday night, but nothing I'd watch more than once.

Days of Thunder wasn't bad, but I can watch Top Gun over and over.

I actually have several older Tom Cruise movies on VHS that I have never even seen. Jerry McGuire, Top Gun, and I know there's one more. I can't believe I've never seen Top Gun and we have it >.<
