I watched this Korean film the other night and all I can say is WOW X 100 - I have never ever been so impressed with an international film as I was with Old Boy.

I recommend it ten fold for those who haven't seen it I won't go into details and spoil it but prepare to be shocked it certainly isn't a film for the feint hearted, it makes you think on so many levels.

I've seen this movie a long time ago, and I realized there are two different groups of people who watch this film.

Group A people are astonished and blown away.

Group B people are left wondering, "Is this all?"

I tend to gravitate towards the latter group. I'm not saying the movie necessarily sucked, but the story was okay in my opinion. There are some great performances however and an off-the-chain scene where the guy eats a live squid.

The follow up film Lady Vengance is on my desk atm waiting to be watched I will let you know my opinion for all the other Groups A's out there

Lady Vengance - it had nothing to do with the Old Boy film although it did have the same actor in it - it was a thought provoking film but not as good as OldBoy IMHO. I recommend it to those who like world cinema.
