Supersize Me
I'm not sure if you would class this as a movie... maybe more of a documentary. But, anyhow, what did you think? Was it an interesting insight into the world of McDonalds and the USA, or did it tell us nothing that new?

That's where I saw it... where in the UK are you, gamesector?
And is Subway that much better? I know they advertise that they're a lot more nutritious but I'm not so sure...

Haven't seen it. Though, I've heard it's basically an anti-McDonald's commercial, and that there's really nothing weighty (no pun intended) about the film. I mean, you'd have to be a complete idiot to think an exclusively McDonald's diet would not be unhealthy, so why would anyone be shocked that he gains all that weight and has related problems to go with it?
All the same, I AM really looking forward to Spurlock's FX TV show. Looks quite interesting, especially the bit where he lives as a Muslim in America for 30 days. _________________ Shamelessly Pimpin'

Point taken, although I think it's the severity of the decline in health of a perfectly healthy person that's so alarming. After one month of it, it took him 5 months to get back in shape.

alty, I think subway is much better seen as it's basically just a sandwich and you can get more salad on it Also, the film wasn;t the best film, but it certainly opens your eyes as to what Mcdonalds has actually contributed to the world..

Well, that truly is alarming, and I think it should serve as a public service announcement for anyone who has a steady diet of fast food. Though, I guess the thing that I find just as troublesome, at least here in America, is people have a tendency to blame rather than be proactive. People in this country have actually sued McDonald's for making them fat rather than changing their diet and getting some exercise. IMO, McDonald's and its ilk aren't really the problem. The problem is that people refuse to do what they need to do to be healthy.
Anyway, sorry for the soapbox. I'll shut up now. Really. _________________ Shamelessly Pimpin'

1. I haven't been smoking for some time now, so I don't know if I'm quailed.
2. I don't have lung cancer currently.
3. I didn't smoke cigarettes manufactured by major tobacco companies, so it's kind of tough to file a suit against them even if 1 and 2 were satisfied. _________________
