Being in my twenties (ok ok now 30 ) I first came across Robert Redford in his more recent films - and oh my word what an actor - I was transfixed from beginning to end just because of him - of course he's a bit too old for it to be much to do with his looks, it was all about the way he held my attention, very much like Sean Connery.

So as a result I started hunting for old Robert Redford movies - and wow what a hottie he was then too Very Happy

He is a very very handsome man. I am a man, but I can honestly say that he almost has perfect face and physical appearance.

Also like you said, his presence on the screen is quite astonishing.

I am only 23, so haven't really seen redford in many of his famous movies. butch cassidy and the sundance kid is probably my favorite movie I've seen on his. From what I've heard he is an excellent actor.

He's the type that can get out of bed and yawn to the local liquor store in his PJs. He also has the type of voice that sounds like he's saying something important.

I'm not homosexual or anything, but the man's got it going.

I'm gonna have to go against the grain one this one. But can't say I'm a big fan of his. Just seems to bore me, can't put my finger on why.

He does have a Connery-esque aura about him though.

I totally agreed with the Connery assessment. Never thought it it that way.

True, I'm not a big fan of his either, but I'm just arguing he's a great actor because he was born with a natural grace. He's got the look and the voice to become successful in Hollywood, which he has - as far as I know.

Huge star with an awesome career. He has really had many phases to his career. I thought his earlier years were great, especially when teamed up with Paul Newman in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid as well as The Sting.

His later movies have been a little too sappy and dour for me... but still a big fan of his body of work.

Also can't forget him in the Canidate, The Great Gatsby, and of course All The President's Men with Dustin Hoffman. I think All the President's Men and the Sting alone are enough to solidfy him as a great actor. I was also a big fan of Brubaker, and of course the corny Natural.

All the President's Men and the Sting are both great movies.

Redford is definatly a good actor, but I don't think I'd ever see a movie just because he's in it.

I wouldn't either, but I get the impression that he's not selling himself so cheaply compared to some actors. That's one of things that I like about him.

There are few male actors I'd see just for them. Probably off the top of my head, The Rock and Jack Black. They've got great charisma and social chemistry. Even if the movie is an utter failure, it's comical to see them steal the spotlight.

If I was an actor, I'd hate to compete on the same set with The Rock or Jack Black. They always rise above the occasion.

I don't care much about The Rock, but I like Jack Black. I think he's a genuinely nice guy, and he does make some presence on the screen. Also he seems like a much more intelligent person than he appears to be.

I'm kind of surprised that anyone would consider Jack Black on the low end of the IQ scale. When I first saw Shallow Hal, I instantly fell in the love with the guy. I thought he was the next Jim Carrey.

Now, he hasn't exactly claimed the star power of Carrey, and I credit most of that to the fact that Black isn't "in shape" or "good lookin" like Carrey. It's only expected from Hollywood. But even as an overweight actor, Black's quirky personality has attracted a cult fanbase.

Well, he started playing major roles relatively recently, and that's probably one of reasons why ...
