Spy Game

Most guys would rather lay back and look forward to the Baja Islands on their last day of work. Not CIA vet Robert Redford. He's a man on a mission to bail out his protege-turned-rebel Brad Pitt, whose been charged of espianoge in China. But the higher ops have plans contrary. Now it's up to Redford to pull out all the hate tricks, as a seasoned tactician and raconteur.

Spy Game delivers a thoughtful script for a thriller. However, Redford's stoic persona makes it tough for the viewers to connect his character's ironically emotional attachment to Brad Pitt. For a highly rated suspense film, I wasn't very riveted. The pivotal flashback sequences are okay and Pitt's turning point is nothing that hasn't been done before. What makes Spy Game enjoyable is Redford's elaborate scheme in the office to throw off upper management, who never cease to be one step behind his double dealings.

Hmmm ..., I thought that it was the whole point of the movie.

I agree to a certain extent. If you find that Robert Redford's presence is a joy to watch, then you'd probably enjoy watching the film. If not, you may not be that impressed.

Some actors are great to watch. Robert De Niro, Samuel L. Jackson, The Rock, etc. But it doesn't make a bad movie good.

Not saying Spy Game was bad. Just think you gave it more credit that it deserved.

That's just my personal opinion. Smile
