Wolf Creek

I saw Wolf Creek just because Quentin called it a classic. A colleague later criticized me for it. "I know. I know. Quentin will say anything for the right price. I can't help that I'm in love with him." The commercials also advertised this movie as the most horrifying film since the original TCM. Now there's a bold statement.

What begins as a spirited trip to observe a landmark at Wolf Creek National Park, quickly fades into a sullen affair when three backpackers realize their vehicle won't start. Luckily, rescue arrives in the form of a dubious Outback Jack-like fellow, who offers his technical expertise... whatever that is.

Upon finishing Wolf Creek, it's clear the only thing that benefited from the movie is Quentin Tarantino's bank account. The movie would've been considered a classic if it was made before Texas Chainsaw Massacre, as it's nothing more than a dumbed down copycat. Wolf Creek does nothing new, contrary to whatever the producers in the Special Features want to believe. The worst part of the supposedly "true story" is hysterically its saving grace.

SPOILER***
A car breaks down everytime a protaganist attempts to drive it.
END SPOILER***

This is not a true story like the ads falsely testify, and it certainly is not a classic. I'd strictly recommend this film if you haven't the stomach to see the original TCM.

Larry King also says anything for any price.

I went to the local supermarket to get a couple of DVD's. They had been doing 2 for £10 and I'd got a few interesting ones I'd probably never have bought at full price. Anyway I got there and the deal had ended, I was annoyed as I wanted something to watch and stopped this. Damn that was £14 I'll never see again. I thought so much of it that I've lent it out and can't remember who to or if I ever get it back Sad

I liked the knife in the lower spine jobby. Twisted Evil To think that you are helplessly paralyzed whilst some psycho is hovering over you with tools of torture... makes you shudder!
