A History of Violence
The vague commercials told little about the movie, but it looked intriguing enough to chance a rent.
A History of Violence is about a small town dad Tom Stall, whose heroic response against a dangerous pair of criminals, attracts unwanted attention from a mobster who's convinced that Stall was a former hitman.
This was one of the finer films I had the pleasure of watching in recent months. The actors compliment the overall style of the movie really well and the director does a brilliant job of instilling an eerie fantasyscape to Indiana. The screenplay adopts a familiar theme, but adds a combustible, Sin City-esque element to it that makes A History of Violence a rare treat. _________________

For sure, give this movie a rent. If you're a fan of Viggo Mortenson, it's hard for the movie to disappoint. It's his best film since Lord of the Rings, and it's also hailed as David Croenenberg's best film yet. In the Special Features, all the directors and actors immediately paid tribute with a standing ovation when the movie finished at Cannes. _________________

I saw this film in theatres. I thought it could have been better, but saying that, I still liked it. It's interesting to see the flurry of emotions and confusion that his wife goes through. _________________ Nutty Chipmunk Productions

Talk about the rough sex scene. It was definitely the highlight of the movie.
History's the anti-commercial action/drama. So in that context, I thought it was great. The ending could've had some work done, but it's still a satisfying experience. _________________

A History of Violence is to my mind a classic to be in the sense that when i went to watch it, i was under the impression that it was going to be just another action film.
To my surprise, it left me bewildered & fascinated that something like that could really happen to someone as we do not know the true origin of our past. Like many things that happened to us, we choose not to remember & soon forget untill something triggers off a memory.
