Re: Battlestar Galatica
I've never seen the movie, but according to everyone else, it's horrible and I should stay as far away as I can from it.
On the other hand, I watched the first season of Battlestar Galactica, and I have to say it's the most cleverly and comprehensibly written script I've witnessed as a scifi buff. It makes Stargate look like Bananas in Pajamas. Actually, Stargate looks like Bananas in Pajamas without the comparison, but you get my meaning.
I missed the second season, because I didn't know when it had started. I thought SciFi would rerun them, marathon style like they did with season 1, but they didn't. So I pretty much blew off the series due to SciFi Channel's historical inconsistency and incompetence in general.
In any case, I too, have not seen the movie, nor the mini-series. My friend said they were giving away the mini-series boxed set for free at a local mall, but nobody was taking it. I called him a fool for not nabbing one for me.
It took me a few episodes to understand what was going on in season 1, but after about the third or fourth episode, I got hooked. I'm not sure if you can start watching it from season 2, because so much happens in just one episode. It's like the Shield of SciFi. If you miss an episode, expect to be lost. _________________
