People Who Watch Dubbed Films

Read the dang subtitles!

Films are so much better in their original language.

I agree 100%, and I have no idea why some people do that. Like you said, the original is 10x better and also it's not that hard to read subtitles.

Most of the time I like the dubbed version if they do an OK job at it because I want to watch the movie, not read it. But like I watch a lot of anime so a lot of times the original sub version is better than the dubbed.

You'd think that dubbed animes work ok, but the funny thing is that even animes are better in the original language.

Not everyone understands the value of authenticity. Pity.

I actually turn the subtitles on for every single movie I watch because most of the times, I don't know what they're saying. I have to read it. If a movie doesn't offer subtitles, I feel claustrophobic and frustrated. Wink

When I worked at Hollywood Video, my coworker told me about how much he enjoyed The Ring. I told him it was okay. He then said, "Oh but you know what? We also got Ring You!" It was actually "Ringu," pronounced "Ring-Goo," but he pronounced it "Ring You." Anyway, he continued, "I heard that's the original and it's even better... but it has subtitles so I ain't gonna watch it." Laughing

Finally, someone else who does this!

But I agree as well, watching the original version of the film is always, always, always better than a dubbed version, especially pertaining Anime.

Ah, thank you. Anime and animations are not just moving pictures + voice which can be replaced with voice in another language. You actually want to watch all anime and animations in original languages while you read subtitles.
