Do you drink coffee?

Well, do you enjoy the rich aroma and delicious taste of freshly brewed coffee in the morning whilst watching the day break?

Or drink gas station coffee on the way to work really fast to help with the hangover from the night before?

anyways....

Never touch the stuff. Too bitter. (I'm a supertaster.)

Yes. Latte, no sugar. I also like regular black coffee; I haven’t had it for some time for a reason though.

No, for the simple reason that I don't like the taste.

You might be a supertaster, altyfc; coffee tastes more bitter to us then it does to most people. Do you also dislike things like grapefruit juice, cabbage, soy products?

That's interesting.

I don't dislike many things, but grapefruit is another thing I don't like.

Cabbage and soy sauce (not sure about soy products???) I'm OK with.

In fact... these are the things I don't like:

Tea
Coffee
Grapefruit
Avocado

That's about all I can think of. I like pretty much anything else, and I can eat avocado if I have to. Laughing

Well there's more information about it on Wikipedia ... the only thing on the list of problem foods that I don't mind is spinach. I found out in science class in middle school when we were given papers soaked in a bitter chemical to taste; most people couldn't taste it but the rest of us thought it was awful.

Interesting to see tonic water in the list. That's another thing I could happily pass on.

But the other things I don't mind.

So what makes someone a supertaster, and someone else someone who just happens not to like certain things? Smile

I think the current theory is that supertasters have more receptors on their tongues Smile

OK... I'm a supertaster. How can I make money with this new-found ability? Twisted Evil

Become a world renowned expert on chocolate! (Or some other popular food that you can taste all the little nuances of that mere mortals are missing.)
