District 13
This is co-written by Luc Besson and is quite typical of his action packed style.
The film is set in a not too distant future where modern France is split into "Districts", some of them being absolute no go areas for the law abiding and basically dumping grounds for the undesirables.
The plot follows a maverick cop and one of the residents teaming up, each with their own motives to defeat the Gang Boss who controls District 13. Cue tons of action, car chases and explosions!
This is by no means an intellectual picture, but the action and visuals are amazing. This is most noticable in the directors decision to use "parkour" heavily in the action sequences, long before it was used in Casino Royale.
